After losing his mother, Lidel was raised by his hardworking father and grandmother in a close-knit church community. Forced to leave school due to tuition costs, he still loved to read and feared losing his learning. One day, an advocate saw him reading to children and, moved by his passion, connected with his family and church. With support from Haiti One by One, Lidel returned to school and tutors younger students on weekends—helping both his family and others.
Now Lidel aspires to be a teacher for his country.

YOU CAN CHANGE A LIFE, A COMMUNITY, A GENERATION
|
Keep students in school. Unexpected disruptions happen. When lapse of donations or monthly commitments stop, we secure the completion of a full school year. $25 is a easy way to give regularly, or give your own amount to fill the gaps of educational costs.
|
Monthly support towards an individual students education goes toward tuition, books, supplies and uniform. In each family, the program asks parents to give what they can. The participation of the family preserves dignity and responsibility in the process.
