Lidel
Lidel's mother died years ago and father is a hardworking and trustworthy laborer. His beloved grandmother helps raise Lidel and the family is very active in the church community. Lidel attended school through 8th grade, but the rising cost of tuition kept him from continuing. He is now considered old enough to work to provide the financial support needed for the family. Yet, he loves to read and fears forgetting.
One day in rural Haiti an advocate notices Lidel reading to young children, she is so impressed that she takes it upon herself to look into his situation and contacts the local church. Then with the family, support is offered through Haiti One by One. Now Lidel is back in school. And he is even paid to tutor primary students on the weekends! This creatively bridges a gap for his family and many others.

YOU CAN CHANGE A LIFE, A COMMUNITY, A GENERATION
Keep students in school. Unexpected disruptions happen. When lapse of donations or monthly commitments stop, we secure the completion of a full school year. $25 is a easy way to give regularly, or give your own amount to fill the gaps of educational costs.

Monthly support towards an individual students education goes toward tuition, books, supplies and uniform. In each family, the program asks parents to give what they can. The participation of the family preserves dignity and responsibility in the process.
