A: EMPHASIZING GODLY PRINCIPLES
Haiti One by One sponsors students in schools founded by churches.
- Vital to transformational learning is Character Building; top priority in all aspects of support
- Classes open and close with prayer and students sing worship song during recreation
- Students recite bible verses to ground them in faith
- For success, students are encouraged to place hope of the future in faith first.
90%
of schools are church founded which naturally develops strong influence and resource...
Spiritually, creating an instrument of HOPE.

Meet Lidel
Mom died years ago and father is a hardworking and trustworthy laborer. Grandmother helps raise Lidel and family is active in the church community. Lidel attended school through 8th, but tuition kept him from continuing and he's now old enough to work and help provide. Yet, he loves to read and fears forgetting. Then, an advocate notices Lidel reading to young children. She learns he is not in school and contacts the church and father to link support through Haiti One by One. Now Lidel is paid to tutor primary students on the weekends. This creatively bridges a gap for he and many others.

To do this...
We are intentional to evaluate and consider students overall health.
Therefore...
We assess the community surrounding students, existing resources and partnership potentials.
Then...
We co-labor around student care plans individually.
Students are...
SurroundedFulfilling the mission of Haiti One by One
"Yes, we will support when you are sick." "What do you need?" "Trust me to keep you safe." "I am sorry for your loss." "Are you hungry? I will feed you." "This is hard for you, but it will be ok." "Let's celebrate passing the test!" "I sponsor to relieve a burden students need not carry." "You are surrounded by love." You are fearfully and wonderfully made. We are family. |
C: EQUALITY FOR ALL TO LEARN
In recruiting students for our sponsorship program, H1B1 goes the extra mile to insure that equality is extended to everyone in every community.

Meet Sara
She is one of four siblings, but stands out with academic strengths. However, her body is frail and medical evaluation has not been possible. Both parents work and are gone most days. The sisters cook, manage their home and watch over the youngest brother. Family can only afford to send one student to school. An aunt agrees to take Sara in because school options are better in her location. Sara is scared and yet excited for the opportunity. She is sent three hours away. Sisters are jealous, but hopes for success so Sara can return and help one day. Mom and dad are depressed and carry guilt and fear. Will the relatives they are sending Sara to be kind and compassionate, will Sara behave or will her health deteriorate, will she make it? But what else can they do?
This heartbreaking choice is common and comes with traumatic impact in various forms.
However, Hope can be found difficult situations. A Haiti One by One guidance counselor at the new school can identify the needs and dynamics Sara faces; medical attention, counsel and prayer.

ChosenJoshua 1:9
Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified: do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go. While pursuing expansion, Haiti One by One hopes to provide equal learning options in new areas... perhaps support is implemented for the area Sara is from and her siblings can have the same opportunity one day. |
